By creating an account or using Maunoh, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
what maunoh is
Maunoh is a location-based, anonymous social app. Users post short text posts ("blips") tied to their current location, which nearby users can see and reply to. Every blip is ephemeral — it closes automatically, either when its timer runs out or when it hits its reply limit.
zero tolerance for objectionable content
Maunoh has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. This includes, without limitation: harassment, threats, hate speech, content that sexualises, endangers, or exploits minors in any way, illegal content, and content intended to intimidate or abuse another person.
We use an automated filter on posted content, enforced at the server level. Users can report any blip or reply directly in the app, and can block another user at any time. We review reports and act on violations, including removing content and ejecting the responsible account, within 24 hours of a report reaching us.
Anonymity on Maunoh applies to other users, not to us. Every blip and reply is linked to the account that posted it in our own systems. Accounts found to violate this policy are removed, and where required by law we cooperate with law enforcement.
who can use maunoh
Maunoh is intended for people aged 18 and over. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement. We don't knowingly allow anyone younger to hold an account, and we remove any account reported to us as belonging to someone under 18.
your account
You're responsible for the content you post and for keeping your account credentials secure. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your account and everything attached to it.
your content
You retain ownership of what you post. By posting a blip or reply, you give Maunoh the licence needed to display it to other users and operate the app — for example, showing your blip to nearby users, or storing it long enough to serve replies. This licence ends when your content is deleted, whether by you, by its own expiry, or by us for a violation of these terms.
what you agree not to do
- Post content that violates the zero-tolerance policy above.
- Attempt to identify, contact, or expose the identity of another anonymous user.
- Use the app to harass, stalk, or track another person's real-world location.
- Interfere with the app's operation, including attempting to bypass content filtering or moderation.
- Use the app if you're under 18, or create an account on behalf of someone who is.
termination
We can suspend or remove any account or content that violates these terms, at our discretion, without prior notice. You can stop using Maunoh and delete your account at any time.
disclaimer
Maunoh is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content posted by other users will be accurate, appropriate, or lawful — we moderate reported content, but we don't pre-screen every post before it's visible.
limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maunoh and its developer aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or from content posted by other users.
changes to these terms
If we make a material change to these terms, we'll say so in the app rather than quietly updating this page.
